DESCRIPTION
ACQUITY UPLC M-Class Columns are designed for optimal performance for nano- to micro scale liquid chromatographic separation for biomarker discovery and protein and peptide identification and characterization. All M-Class columns are designed for 15 kpsi (1,000 bar) operating pressure and handle pressure fluctuations during injection extremely well and thus provide superior longevity. This specific offering contains Waters patented CSH Technology 130 Å pore, C18, 1.7um particles. The CSH particle technology is built upon the hybrid BEH particle and contains a controlled low-level surface charge, providing enhanced selectivity and exceptional peak shape, particularly for basic compounds under low pH conditions in low-ionic strength mobile phases. The fact that CSH columns show little dependence on modifiers, such as formic acid, makes it ideal for LC-MS separations. In similar fashion, the ability of the CSH C18 chemistry to accept greater peptide mass loads enhances the ability to detect potentially important low level constituents contained with the major components of interest. The characteristic of the solid phase for fast column equilibration and pH switchover also helps increasing the sample throughput.  Each batch is specifically QC tested using a gradient separation of a tryptic digest of cytochrome c to before being QC accepted as a Peptide Separation Column.
